Welcome! I could go on for hours about every idea, vision, and piece of inspiration that went into creating The Sydney House. It has been a thought in my mind for years, and last year my husband gave me the final push to put this in motion officially.

I graduated from college with a degree in Architecture. Due to various reasons, I never practiced professionally but the drive and desire never left me. For years, I would decorate and redecorate our own home, and would lend ideas and insight to friends and family who were doing the same. At some point, we decided to turn this into an endeavor to share with others, and ideas started to bloom from there.

My greatest inspiration has always been our rescue lab-mix, Sydney. To call her just a dog is entirely too simple, as she was our complete and entire world. She very recently passed, and was supposed to be by my side for so much longer. I am beyond thankful that she was with me every step of the way on starting this dream of mine, and I know she will still be with me as I continue.

Over the years we added to our family, and even added another rescue pitty mix, Milo. Even though we have a full and active home, I have done my best to make it visually beautiful, yet comfortable. I experimented with textiles, material and textures to create a mix that was both easy to clean and beautiful.

The entire concept behind The Sydney House is to provide beautiful and quality pieces to your home. We take pride in sourcing materials from small artisans and makers mostly from within the United States. We make every effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and make sure our vendors are too. Every decor item and textile are meant to last for years while withstanding everyday life. We live in our homes, they are meant to be enjoyed and enjoyed well.
